Literally meaning ‘shi’ finger and ‘atsu’ pressure, an ancient form of treatment alternatively called ‘Japanese physiotherapy’. It works using both gentle and strong techniques which include; stretches, rotations, palming, thumb and elbow pressure on acu- pressure points. Some techniques, have been described by clients as “similar to massage but with profound results not expected”. There are also other techniques that have been learnt during the 3 year training which include moxabustion, cupping and cranio-sacral work. The use of any of these techniques will depend on the client and will be discussed with you in detail before being used.
